Diana M. Bugbee – President & CEO
Diana, in her role as Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for all operations conducted by the Nutmeg Companies, Inc. Diana leads the entire project management team and holds her colleagues to the highest standards. Under her leadership, the Nutmeg Companies Inc. has thrived for over 25 years and continues to grow.
Jason L. Bugbee – Owner/Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Jason has over 30 years of experience managing commercial construction projects. One of the original founders of the Nutmeg Companies, Inc., Jason is currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He is responsible for the company’s bidding schedule and project acquisition planning. Jason has managed countless construction projects ranging from large state buildings, federal government projects and major mechanical projects.
Evert L. Gawendo- Owner/Vice President
As Owner and Vice President, Evert oversees company operations and purchasing. He has experience managing projects for both the federal and state government, as well as commercial mechanical projects. He is a registered Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University. Evert is also one of the four co-founders of the Nutmeg Companies, Inc.
Lisa J. Gawendo – Secretary / Treasurer
Lisa has been with the company since its inception, she has overall responsibility for the financial management and administration of the company. Lisa is also the Affirmative / Equal Opportunity Employment Officer. Some of her other duties include bid preparation, technical proposal preparation, overseeing state and federal regulation compliance and project financial closeout. Lisa has a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.
James E. Sawyer, CPA – Chief Financial Officer
As CFO, Jim oversees Nutmeg’s finance and accounting operations. He has over 30 years of accounting experience in the construction industry, including the last 15 years with The Nutmeg Companies, Inc. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a BS in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. Jim is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Construction Financial Management Association.
Shayne McAvoy – Operations Manager
Shayne McAvoy has been a valued team member at the Nutmeg Companies for over 20 years. He has extensive experience as a project manager for a variety of clients, from federal contracts to medical laboratories. As Operations Manager, Shayne offers his many years of expertise in support of fellow team members. Shayne holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Central Connecticut State University
Robert Godiksen – Director Of New Development
As Director of New Development, Bob calls on owners, developers, architects and engineers opening new avenues of opportunities for the Nutmeg team. With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry he communicates the advantages to working with Nutmeg on all aspects of construction. He is a graduate Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Jacob D. Gawendo – Safety & Health Director
Jacob has worked for the Nutmeg Companies, Inc. for over a decade and has extensive experience in many roles throughout the company. Jacob is responsible for making sure all projects are managed safely and meet all related health and safety requirements. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Central Connecticut State University and LEED Accredited Professional Certification.
Michael B. Gawendo – Project Manager
Mike graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Construction Management and has acquired his LEED Accredited Professional Certification. While working with Nutmeg as a Project Manager, Mike has proven to be a valuable asset to the Nutmeg team for the past five years, working on all types of projects. Mike has experience on, large and small projects, dealing with State, Federal and Private clients. After graduating and prior to coming to Nutmeg, Mike gained valuable experience with Gilbane.
Kenneth Bousquet – Project Manager
As a project manager at the Nutmeg Companies, Inc. for over two decades, Kenneth is an advanced and highly experienced construction leader. He is responsible for coordinating with the design team, construction team and all invested clients to ensure that the end product of every project meets the highest quality standards.
Andrew Beatty – Project Manager
A strong leader, Andrew Beatty has been a project manager at the Nutmeg Companies, Inc. for over 15 years. He is experienced in advanced laboratory construction, education building construction and a variety of other commercial building needs. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computers and Management from Franklin Pierce College.
